There is such a thing as setting. Technology always looked more like some fanservice in this manga, in those rare moments it was shown. Yet still almost the whole time it was about somewhat near middle ages villages, swords, plates, ninjas... I hope you get me here. Now it's about computers, skyscrappers and so on... That's a totally different setting. And it ruined the one we all got used to through years of reading.

We got to see THE TOOLS OF THE SIX PATHS wind up in a shitty run down failing military surplus shop that nobody visits, and fat Anko, but no Orochimaru. The guy who got Sasuke's side of the story rolling. It's such shit.

Actually it is indicative of the progress the Countries have made over the years, with the War funding reduced it would more funds for other things and a chance of applying the Wartime developed technology ... Even in RL after the World Wars ended there was huge explosion of Mordernisation.

Not to mention you are forgetting that Kishi is after all a Japanese person .... Japan is know for being a mix of modern and traditional.

I can see your point here, but it should've been more than a few TV and headsets in the whole manga. You know, you don't make 699 chapters with close to no technologies at all, and then BOOM - it's a modern high-tech world in ~10 years after 699.
