The Legendary Sage of Konoha Returns, Chapter 22;
Naruto: If it's a battle you want, it's a battle you'll get!!
Charging in at the Sage with his sword in hand, ready to strike at him, Naruto quickly realized his skills were not the same without the flow of chakra running through his body, as the Sage easily parried the strike, giving him a knock to the head with the back of his hand, sending Naruto tumbling to the ground face first.
"Whoa, easy now tiger... Not so easy without your ninja skills, is it?? I bet the Jubi told you how I was an ordinary man before I met the Wizard and that I learned about chakra and chakra control through reading the Founding Book of Jutsu?? It took a long while before I managed to adapt to this new ability of mine, but I always was an excellent swordsman..."
Naruto: Ouch... What did you do that for??
Scratching the back of his head, Naruto obviously felt the pain of the Sage's knock.
Naruto: Yeah, but he had no idea why he had access to all of that information, though he believed it had to do with you transferring your memory over to him, or your minds connecting the moment you sealed him inside yourself...
Standing up on his feet again, Naruto readied himself for round two.
"Hehe, I see... Well it's not far from right I suppose... Anyways, the key to becoming a good swordsman lies in the way you feel your sword..."
Naruto: The way I feel the sword?? What do you mean?
"It's not a matter of raw power or speed, but about becoming one with the blade... It's like chakra control you could say, at first you need to adapt, but once you learn, you'll be able to progress!"
Leaping off towards Naruto with his sword, the two exchanged a couple of rounds with their swords as Naruto managed to parry each attempt.
"Not bad... Not bad at all. You probably have a decent knowledge and experience with the use of the Kunai and shaping it with nature transformation I take it? Though just swinging a weapon around is not always the right way to go, you must put passion and dedication into each swing!"
Coming in at Naruto once again, the two exchanged several rounds, over ten rapid ones followed by five powerful ones, before the Sage jumped back to gain some distance.
"In my life, I always was on the run, from the very moment of that fateful day when my family got slaughtered. I needed to adapt, I needed to learn how to defend myself... The survival instinct and the will to always press onward!"
Coming in even more fiercely at Naruto, the Sage lashed out several powerful strikes at him, as he could do nothing more than to block as the Sage swung around, attempting to hit him from behind.
Naruto: ?!
Barely avoiding taking a direct hit from the Sage's attack, Naruto tried to gain some distance from him as the sword of the Sage snared his shoulder, causing a minor cut to appear.
Naruto: ahh...
"The thing about my life, is that I was lucky enough to experience both lives, the life of the mortal human being and the life of the advanced abilities that comes with the flow of chakra running through your veins... In time, you must have adapted more and more to these abilities which I left behind as my legacy, and you must have depended more and more on it as well, meaning that once your chakra runs out, you fall in despair... You'll get exhausted, as if you have nothing more to give... But the truth is, you are still a human being, and human beings didn't depend on chakra in the past to fight for them..."
Naruto: I kind of get what you're hinting at... That's one of the main qualities of the Sage Mode and Natural energy control...
"That's right!... My point in saying all this, is that to become a Master of Swords, you must first learn how to wield the sword without the use of chakra... and once you've learned that, there is so many paths you can go down, so many opportunities to explore... The Master Sword is said to be forged by the Gods of the old themselves... The Blade to oppose all evil, to shine light upon the good things in life..."
Naruto: ...
"I came across the Master Sword, after being visited in a dream by the Goddess herself... She told me that it was my destiny to uncover the long lost blade, that I had to travel long and far to find it. That only one of pure heart and intent may draw the blade, and it's a symbol of Hope and Peace... When I asked her about the Blade's powers, she said to me that its powers reflects the heart of its wielder, and that's why it only can be wielded by one with a pure heart, one with no selfish ambitions... When I fought the Titans, I knew it was I who had strayed from my path, creating the curse that was cast upon the land, the curse of hatred... That I no longer was worthy as its wielder... That's why I used its power to seal away the Titans, laying it to rest in the Underworld Dimension in hopes of that one day, another hero would rise to claim it his own..."
Naruto: Hmm...
"There are so many thing I could have told you about my life, so many things I could have asked about yours... However, the memory of my life and what I experienced, still lives on within the Jubi and the Great Toad Sage of Mt. Myo... The state I left him in was a defense mechanism, so that no one would know of my life, of my feats and fails... Not until someone worthy came before him."
Naruto: So that's why he has such a bad memory, why he sometime seems so... Oblivious and demented??
"Haha, yeah, although some of that may come from his old age I suppose... Naruto, I must ask you... How far are you willing to go to obtain true peace and break the curse?? What are you willing to risk??"
Naruto: I'm willing to do whatever needs to be done...
"I see... When this is all over, I want you to seek him out, the Great Toad Sage, tell him that you're ready to Fulfill your Destiny... and that you are ready for the final test... Tell him about our meeting..."
Naruto: To Fulfill my Destiny?
"Yes... Those are the magic words..."
Naruto: ...
"I truly believe that you are my successor, the one destined to fulfill the task I left behind... I believe in you, Uzumaki Naruto, and I know that you will find the key to peace eventually... Never stray from your path, never give up, never pursue foolish ambitions... Claim the Master Sword your own, and follow your heart... Now don't forget what I told you, and be careful of my attacks..."
Naruto: I will, you can count on me Old-Man-Sennin!
"Hehe, it seems that something good came out of this after all, just as HE predicted. I'm glad we got this opportunity kid... When we meet again, I'm sure you'll be one step closer to achieving that goal, that dream, the dream left by your Sensei, Jiraiya..."
Naruto: Who's he?? And how did you-...
"Our time is running out now it seems... This will be my final parting gift to you... Here..."
Walking over to Naruto, the Sage laid his hand carefully on Naruto's head as the white bright light of the Skyworld dimension, of the room around them, suddenly vanished.
Naruto: ?!... What just happened??
Kabuto: Ruarghhhhhh!
Just seconds later, the Sage retracted his hand as Kabuto roared intensely, finally managing to regain control over the Sage, as his eyes turned red.
Naruto: Old-man-Sennin??
*Flashback Ends*
Naruto: Yosh, let's go!!
Racing off at immense speed, Naruto headed right for one of the nearby isles.
Shima: How do you even know which isle it is kid??
Naruto: I just know, I can feel it!! Just like we're connected now, I'm feeling the connection to the sword!
Fukasaku: !!
Landing on the shore of the Isle, Naruto was just about to walk through the tick trees in front of him, as the Sage suddenly appeared behind him.
SoSP (Static Voice): *Pant, pant* Now where do you think you are goi-..?!
As he approached Naruto from behind, massive roots suddenly shot up all around him, restraining his body completely.
Naruto: Wood Style: Underground Roots Technique...
SoSP (Static Voice): Ahahahaha, keheheheh, you really think you have me now?? Although you may have restrained this body, making me unable to perform any techniques, you still can't seal me away or cancel this technique... This world is MINE, REMEMBER?!
Turning his head slightly to the side, Naruto looked at him with a share portion of confidence in his eyes.
Naruto: I don't have time for you right now...
Walking into the great forest in front of him, Naruto then left the Sage behind, restrained on the beach, as he went on to end this technique once and for all.
SoSP (Static Voice): Hey, where the heck do you think you're going?! Answer me!!
Naruto: We're close...
Walking through the vast forest and out into an open field, completely laid in dessert, Naruto knew that he was not far away now.
Fukasaku: So this blade... It will end this Dimension if you draw it from its resting place??
Naruto: Apparently so...
Shima: Just be careful, alright?...
Naruto: I will.
Leaping across the dessert at immense speed, Naruto suddenly spotted some ruins up ahead as he stopped by the entrance of a large hallway with staircases, leading down into the ground.
Naruto: This must be the ruins of the once great Temple of Time... I just know that this is the right way to go...
Shima: Temple of Time?? How do you even know this is going to work??
Naruto: Because he told me so, that's why...
Fukasaku: If you say so...
Venturing down the dark hallway, Naruto used his Wood Style to form a small stick, as he fired up a Fire Style technique to lit it on fire. As he was nearing the end of the tunnel-like hallway, he noticed a glimpse of light at the end, as he hurried himself over, only to step out into a magical place...
Naruto: Whoa... This looks like...
Shima: You're right, this does feel a lot like home...
Fukasaku: How can such a place exist in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of a great dessert??
The room they entered had a deep pond full of life, in the middle of it, as trees and green fields of grass surrounded it on all sides. There was no roof on the room, as sunlight penetrated the thick clouds and lit up the place. It was surrounded by rocks on all sides, covering it from the outside world.
Naruto: There! There it is!!
On the opposite side of the room, a pillar of earth and grass with a platform on top of it stuck up from the ground, as a small waterfall streamed down from the top. Jumping over to it, Naruto landed on the platform, only to find exactly what he was looking for. In front of him, resting in the Pedestal of Time, laid the legendary blade, the Master Sword.
Naruto: This is...
Shima: What exactly is that??
Fukasaku: Yet, it feels so familiar.
Naruto: You think I should try drawing it?...
Fukasaku: I don't see why not...
Naruto: Right then...
Walking over to the blade, Naruto laid his hands on its hilt, readying himself to draw it as he felt the magic of the blade flowing through his hands and arms, all the way through his body.
Naruto: This blade... I can feel it, as if it's alive... My chakra, it's been restored by simply touching it...
Fukasaku: Son, are you going to try drawing it or not??
Shima: Yeah, we don't have all day you know...
Naruto: Right, here goes nothing!!
Shima: !!
Fukasaku: You...
Pulling the blade out of the Pedestal of Time, as if nothing, the two toads were surprised to see Naruto so easily being able to draw it as he swung it back and forth through the air a couple of times.
Naruto: I did it... !!
As they still were trying to grasp everything, the room around them started to change as everything turned pitch black for a second or two.
Naruto: Is it... working??
Before he knew it, Naruto suddenly found himself back in the same room where he was before he was transported to the Underworld Dimension as time and space had returned to the real world. In front of him, stood the Sage of Six Paths, and behind him and a barrier, sat Kabuto in meditating position. Slowly opening his eyes, he bluntly replied to Naruto.
Kabuto: So... You found a way out...
"I knew you had it in you from the start kid, well done..."
Naruto: *Smirk*
Kabuto: It really seems like time had stopped, and as if nothing happened in that Dimension... Good, this means I'll have even more time to crush you!
Putting up an evil smirk on his face, Kabuto laughed out loud as Naruto stood idle by, still covered in his Bijou Mode. Both Ma and Pa however, were gone, as if they hadn't been summoned at all.
Naruto: Did any of this really happen?? My chakra reserve... I feel restored... ?! Where's-...
"On your back."
Naruto (In thoughts): ?! You're talking to me telepathically??
"Indeed I am, but not for long. Now quickly, finish this fight while you still can, seal me away for good..."
Kabuto: What's the matter, lost your tongue Naruto-Kun??
Naruto: No, I think I just regained it!
On Naruto's back, a holstered sword slowly appeared, as if by magic, as Naruto knew what the Sage meant by his words.
Kabuto: Hah, we'll see about that!
* With the dimensional transfer technique canceled, what else lies ahead of Naruto in his quest to find peace?? Will he be able to overcome the Sage of Six Paths and end Kabuto's final trickery? Only the future will know, find out Next Time as the fight reaches its end!! *

Fun Facts & Author's Note:
1: The Master Sword finally makes its debut... I've been planning this for God knows how long, and not only for this FF, but the FF about the Sage and even beyond that! Though as I've mentioned earlier to some people, the sword won't play too big of a role in this series as it will in the others.
2: I've set my target at finishing this sequel by the end of June, before I'll move on and finish the third and final sequel, as well as the Short Movie, by the end of July. Then I'll start out at the FF about the Sage, and try and wrap that up by the end of August... So from now on, I'll try to release two chapters a week, one every Tuesday and the other as I see fit, this is my plan at least, let's see how it goes!
3: This was perhaps not as lengthy as I planned for, but I still found it quite nice from an artistic point of view... Not much happened action-wise, but I think the tone of the chapter, with the different dialogues panned out well, at least as how I intended them to be. Next chapter will be the final one with the Sage, so stay tuned for that!!
4: That's all I have for now, hope you liked this new chapter, thank me thumbs up if you did, and as always people, have an awesome day! ;D

4: That's all I have for now, hope you liked this new chapter, thank me thumbs up if you did, and as always people, have an awesome day! ;D
