OK so how did any other country even challenge the leaf in the third war.

Fourth Hokage
Platoon of Uchia
Platoon of Hyuga
...............Game Over

Who do you guys think from the other villages could have challenged the Uchia clan or the Hyuga clan, there is no on i can think of that could have challenged the fourth Hokage

But we dont really know how the war ended. the leaf came out on top from what i can tell, How fast do you think the leaf won the war?

hyuga's countered pretty well by long range ninjas. granny chiyo explains how to take down uchiha with numbers, also remembering that not everyone in uchiha could even use the sharingan,... an yeah minato was impossible to beat. thats why they slapped a flee on sight order on him hehe.

Not all wars are won fast. It probably took some time, the Leaf didn't send out the Hyuga and Uchiha together or in big numbers. They sent small batalions to do small but vital tasks. Not some giant army like this current Joint Shinobi Alliance.

Our entire knowledge of the Naruto universe is mostly focused around the hidden leaf village therefore it's not too far fetched too assume that the other villages had their fair share of clans and ninjas that were just as amazing as the ones we have already seen from the Leaf.

The Uchiha and Senju are strongest clans in narutoverse. Period.

They crushed every single clan out there and made a village of their own. Other villages were made by leftovers.

Hashirama even gave out beasts to even out things between villages.

Both clans live/d in Konoha so..

Edit : Now both are supposedly gone and so does the power of Konoha.

Result : Konoha and most of its top ninjas defeated by single man (with few zombies).

But we're talking about the 3rd World War here not the time when it was them on top I mean during the time how many Senju were left because it seems to have dwindled.

And the main point of the thread is the Third Ninja War and how others could have competed and in war so long as the other countries had their own fair share of super strong clans even if it weren't the best would have still held their own.

You are extremely subjective and one sided. The story is seen from the Leaf's point of view and based on that you decided the Leaf must be the strongest, they have got the Uchiha and the Hyuuga, so it is impossible to loose. Wrong, dead wrong. Then you completely ignore everything else just because it suits your own vision.

It has been clearly stated in the databooks that the military force of both the Cloud as the Stone are larger than those of the Leaf.

Just because the Leaf has the Uchiha and Hyuuga they must be the strongest? All the villages have KG. Just because the Hyuuga and Uchiha have gotten so much screentime you decide that they must be unbeatable. Then you ignore the fact that other villages have KG too, not to mention that the Sharingan and Byakugan users that get the most screentime are the most powerful ones. Kakashi, Sasuke, Itachi, Madara, Neji, Hiashi...those are all elite shinobi. Because they seem all invincible, their entire clan must be like that. Wrong, those were elite shinobi, all the others aren't that special. MS has rarely been achieved, but because we see it so often you make globalization. Sharingan and Byakugan can give you certain advantages, but when you fight against a decent shinobi that's not going to be enough. That has been proven by Itachi, who could easily beat an entire group of Uchiha. Not to mention he was able to kill his entire clan off.

On top of that the Hyuuga and Uchiha clans only form a fraction of Konoha. To win wars you need an army. Do you really think that only those two clans can win a war? No, they're to small for that. Those doujutsu can give you an advantage in battle, but are far from a guaranteed victory. Itachi, Sasuke, Kakashi...those were exceptions. The average Uchiha or Hyuuga isn't going to make that much of difference.

You are incredibly subective and blinded. Considering all the villages are still there, no one won the war. You can call Konoha the village closest to the victory, but in the end no one won it as all the villages still exist.

And don't you think the other villages have strong shinobi? Minato was strong, but the other villages have ninja's too from the same caliber.

Just because they have Uchiha, Hyuuga and Minato you bombard them to the strongest village and make it seem it was foulish of the other villages to attack them. That thought is subjective, extremely limited and quite childish as you ignore everything else.

I think this war through Edo Tensei and the strongest alliance shinobi are illustrating how strong ninja other countries had.

I'm not sure if all of these guys were in the third and/or second great ninja war:

2nd Tschuikage - dust
3rd Raikage - black lightning, storm release
3rd Kazelage - iron sand
Various ninja before joining Akatsuki - Sasori of the red sands, Deidara, Kisame, etc.

I'm happy that all the countries have strong shinobi; otherwise, it'd be kind of weak plot wise.

One area that seems unbalanced though is comparing Kages. It seems like the first Hokage was clearly the most powerful. The 2nd and 3rd might be closer in power to the other respective 2nd and 3rd Kages. Of course, the 4th Hokage wipes the other 4th Kages. Thus, if there's any imbalance, it seems here.

Very true!very true! the war only turned in konoha's favor when team minato destroyed the kannabi bridge which was towards the end of the war, though the majority of the war was in iwagakurs favor.
