Not sure if this point was already made before and I apologize if it was but every Naruto movie was meant to appease to the anime watchers, not to the manga readers. Judging by the way the show is going right now, I highly, highly doubt that it would be able to catch up to the current manga by December especially seeing as to how slow the anime is.

Basically since the movie is supposed to appeal to the anime watchers, and it seems unlikely that the manga will end by December, I can safely say that they would not **** up the time period by having it like, Naruto and Sasuke seal Kaguya in one episode, movie comes out following week, then week after that Sasuke challenges Naruto. Ya feel?

Well its been confirmed that Sasuke has his sharrinnegan and that means Naruto will have his new BSM, so it could very well be canon.

It is canon until kishimoto says that it is not.

It is also NOT the end of the manga or an epilogue. It is the first of the New Era, described officially as the "opening" of the New Era project.

Shippuden may end, but Naruto will continue.

What part of "To connect and go beyond the manga" do you not understand ?

Not too mention the obvious such as naruto keeping his hand wrapped up.
That in itself (Even if the taglines didn't make it very clear this was cannon) signifies that its cannon

Canon or not, the movies at least have some consistencies with the main story at the time that movies come out. How else are people going to recognize what is happening if the events keep breaking all of the established rules of the Narutoverse?

In Road to Ninja, even though the timeline was f*cked in order to place the characters back into a not-destroyed Konoha, they made references to his fight against Pain and he knew who his parents were. In canon, he met his mom during his fight against the kyuubi, and to confront the kyuubi he had to rip the SEAL tag off the cage. In the movie, the SEAL tag was also gone, which is consistent with the canon events that led to him meeting his mom.

Anyways, I don't think they would have Sasuke in the movie if he was killed in the manga. In all of the movies that came out while he was rogue, he was not on the team. Whatever role he ends up with in the manga, his role will be the same in the movie.
