Sakura has shown these traits you highlighted in part 1 and 2.... i'm not quite sure why you're trying to make it seem like she became these things only in adulthood.

Yes, there had been childlike behavior in part 1 but they were children...Naruto acted childish and stupid at times as well.

In shippuden she matured for the most part and her weak point in part 2 was mainly involving sasuke which showed itself only a few times.

All of her power ups were earned. Whether or not you feel they aren't because you didn't know it was coming. You should have paid attention to Tsunade being her teacher. It was only natural and it had its prep time.

Yes, in the Last she was all of these things but it was not only in the last and that's my only problem with this thread. Idk if it was made with good intentions but it was a bit inaccurate.

Fair, but hear me out, please bc I feel justified in only enjoying this portrayal of her. The only time I have liked her is in two-three of the movies. (Boruto/Last/CrescentMoonKingdom) And never when she has a starring role. For the reasons i've stated and more, I cannot defend a character who only updates her one character trait- dependence.

All of her lines right up into the end of the war involve not falling behind them, a concept perfectly explained the first time in the Forest of Death. Repetitive and a blatant lack of character development. And even then if you judge character by someone's actions...I hate the decisions she makes and the way she treats others.

Sakura Hiden was intensely disappointing when Sakura kept relating every other chapter to a Sasuke dream sequence. In the final battle she makes a poor twisted metaphor about punching Kido's Kyuubi Cloak being like her relationship with Sasuke? In a life and death battle with a random ANBU, she's STILL desperately making it about them. It just made me pity her. And this is coming from someone who has always wanted to like her. All you have to give me is a cute & likeable Tenten-level character and i'll likely grow attached.

You say her poor moments are in Part 1 and Part 2 when thinking about Sasuke. I say this is the majority of her character. No matter where he is, she is making decisions based on him. It is insulting writing and I genuinely feel like Kishimoto didn't even try with her.

After part 1, Sakura was never that bad of a person or character for me. My main gripe with her character is just her romantic choice and motivations. In terms of shinobi ability and helping other people, she is solid.

I think that's why "The Last" Sakura comes as the most relatively developed and intresting stage of Sakura because Sasuke is not involved, in the saving Gaara ark Sasuke was nowhere to be seen and Sakura's character was doing astoundingly well, in the war arc Sasuke was around but there was no time for him and Sakura's character did well. If only Kishimoto didn't base her mistakes around that guy.

In the main series it felt like she was so selfish over he need to get Sasuke's approval. That's literally the only thing she cared about, going to the point of throwing away all of her friends. The Last Sakura is the Sakura we should of had the entire series.

I used to think that Sakura was the most annoying character. She used to just stand around with a kunai repeating Sasuke-kun, Sasuke-kun.. But I agree, she really has developed. I enjoy her character. She's gone from a useless pseudo kunoichi to a well trained medic. She's also done a good job with raising her child, Sarada is not at all what Sakura used to be, thankfully.

The Last proves Sakura works best as a side character and Hinata works best as a main character.
Yeah, no. Hinata had s few impressive scenes but honestly even as the main in the film she played the damsel in distress a lot. If the manga ever followed the lines of the Last, Hinata would be getting just as much hate as Sakura.

The last is the only moment that she is not selfish, lying or helping someone with a secret agenda. Yeah, she is alright there. Later in gaiden she went downhill.

Even excluding her background and development, by no means Sakura is great in the last. Not sure if there's great characters in Naruto, but if I should point one, by no means is Sakura as a cupid lol. She just ok and thats a rare moment she is likeable.

Because it was a romance film, so no surprise she'd be a damsel in distress. Now make her the heroine in the manga that doens't focus on romance, and that's a different story. Please comprehend that.

You'd need a different mangaka then. In a show with almost no time for romance or femininity in it's core themes, Sakura's entire character is still written to force a romance into a military, broken world within an action shounen. The female character doesn't matter when the writer is this bad at handling kunoichi as main characters.

Oddly his secondary characters are always great girls, most of my favs. He just can't extend that same luxury to her.
