First attempt Sasuke was trying to kill everyone. She simply reacted and the punch she was going to use wasn't intended to kill Sasuke BTW
Second and third attempt it was quite clear that she didn't have the resolve to kill him.Sasuke could see right through her deception and yet he tried to kill her first instead of knocking her out
Sakura intended to go through with her foolhardy plan of killing Sasuke without having any resolve because she is thick in the head.
On a side note we also have her saying something about stealing the position of Hokage from the two of them and the last glimpse we get of her is dusting furniture
Sakura as a character is full of bravado but short on delivery needing someone else to do her shit for her
As you said yourself, Sasuke saw through her deception (pretending she wants to join him) and her real intent (to kill him) and he simply struck first and Kakashi saved her. You mention Sakura not having the will to go through with it, so what?
Sasuke is a sharingan user yes but he is not a mind reader, and he was half blind anyway, and even if he was a mind reader, he would still be justified in trying to kill her. Why would he knock her out when she had the intent to kill him? This is the shinobi world, killing your enemy is the best way to eliminate the threat, especially when said enemy tried to kill you (her strength of will is irrelevant, it's the intent that matters).
You say Sasuke was trying to kill everyone, that is technically incorrect. Sure, he had the intention to destroy the hidden leaf in the future, but they didn't know that when they decided to kill him, they only knew that he attacked the summit and killed Danzo (who has the longest list of crimes against the leaf by the way, and who they vehemently opposed as Hokage).
The fact of the matter is that everything Sasuke did against Sakura and Kakashi (specifically at the summit) was self defense. It was a simple matter of kill the enemy before they kill you. I'm not sure what 'punch' you are talking about that wasn't intended to kill, frankly, I don't remember Sakura ever trying to punch Sasuke, and I wasn't refering to such a thing, I'm talking about the fact that she tried to stab him with a poisoned kunai.
By the way you don't have to try so hard to convince me that Sakura is not a likeable character, although I do believe that cleaning her house and the taunting/playful remark she made about stealing the position of Hokage from Sasuke and Naruto are completely irrelevant and prove nothing regarding her character. Also, I don't think Sakura is a 'bad character' in the true sense of the phrase, she has a bad and dislikeable personality, but she is a good character because she is a realistic character and fits into Kishi's diverse collection of characters.
We have a headstrong and no nonsense woman (Temari), a shallow, confused, and insecure popular girl who takes out her frustrations by bullying and abusing a dorky and unpopular boy who has a lame crush on her (Sakura), and shy girl and insecure but kind and loving girl (Hinata), a normal and laid back girl (Tenten), and a confident, self assured but somewhat shallow girl (Ino), and a slutty fangirl (Karin). Then we have powerful women who are strong leaders (Tsunade, Mei, and Konan), sadistic women (Anko, Kin Tsuchi), powerful wormonger, manipulative, and controlling women (Kaguya), etc etc. So yes, I dislike Sakura's personality and I would most likely never date someone like her, nor even befriend her probably, but she is not a bad character in the story sense of the phrase, she is a realistic character.
Sasuke and Naruto have MANY flaws themselves, but ofcourse women always get special attention. People are always complaining on behalf of women and always making them out to be victims in every scenario. Most of the complaints made about Sakura's characters I could list the same about Naruto. Obsession with Sasuke? Both Naruto and Sakura are guilty, I could argue Naruto is even worse. Loving a person who abuses you and constantly turns down your affections, often with rude insults? Both Naruto and Sakura are guilty, it's even more ironic that Sakura is the one doing that to Naruto. Refusing to take no for an answer and pestering the other constantly? Both are guilty. But ofcourse all these feminists complain about Sakura being made like that but not Naruto.
The same people who complain about Sakura, Hinata, and Konan having a large chunk of their character revolving around a guy praise Obito for his obsession with Rin, Jiraiya with Tsunade, and Naruto with Sakura. It's honestly quite disgusting. Anyway, sorry for the long rant, I made have drifted off topic there a bit, or and my primitive phone don't allow me to space paragraphs, you'll have to bare the wall of text unfortunately, or you can just not read it, lol
