The Last: Naruto the Movie (Why "The Last" as name?)

This week some scans regarding "The Last: Naruto the Movie" appeared on the internet.. One of them has a scroll with some words that people think that's the plot for the movie.. Yeah.. it is somehow. takL a user from that "other" forum (no advertising) is one of the forum translators.. He looked at this scan and translated the words from it:

" The moon is making abnormal approach! At this rate the moon will collapse and become meteorites to rain down on the Earth! Countdown for Doomsday begins!! Can Naruto overcome this crisis!? "

I know this has been posted already but, I wanted to discuss something, Doomsday (last day on earth), could this be the reason why the movie is called "The Last" ? Also how do you expect from Naruto to solve this problem?

I figure it has to do with the gedo statue being the core of the original moon. But it hasn't been inside the moon for a while has it? The earliest it was summoned when Madara was old and wrinkly I think.
