This too, nobody knew of the true ootsusuki clan. Kaguya never told Hamura or Hagoromo in the end. They probably assumed that their origins came from else where but they figured they were all that remained. Since you know, no one else came for 1000s of years

Again, they weren’t referring to the alternative dimensional Otsutsuki’, they were referring to the “earth and moon” Otsutsuki and their connection to Kaguya. Kaguya started the family tree and her direct descendants are therefore of the main family. Which means that they were not saying that Kaguya is part of the main “interstellar Otsutsuki” branch. It’s not that hard to understand.

Even if it’s explained later that she is of the main Otsutsuki clan, the excerpt that you’re referencing doesn’t allude to that in any way.

Nah they probavly just followed the same pattern as the Ptsutsuki, the Hyuga had a similar pattern a main family and a vranch family. All that means is one's descendants become the heads and the others become the soldiers.
