I doubt this is the last arc of fairy tail. I think there will be stronger people than zeref. Like, the people or person who cursed him. I think there's more to it than he just got randomly cursed. I think someone put it on him and Mavis. And even if they didn't , I still don't think this will be the final showdown. After zeref there will probably be more. Like maybe end. End is supposed to stand for Etherious Natsu Dragneel but I think it's deeper than that. Any thought?

If it's gonna be anything like Bleach's last arc, they will drag it through molasses kicking and screaming into a slow death. But this is Fairy Tail, they have better standards than that. I'm not sure if this will be the last arc or not. Will they go Naruto and make an Epilogue Arc?
I hope it doesn't end. I mean, the writer didn't say it would end anytime soon. But the bleach writer announced it would be the last arc. I just feel there's probably way more to the story that we haven't seen yet.

Its pretty cut and dry to me. No more dark guilds left and now zeref is gonna fight along with acnalogia. It would be dumb to do another arc. Give the people what they want which is what is being done and call it a day. FT isn't the kind of cash cow Naruto is so I doubt they will do an epilogue arc. More like a last detailed arc with a couple time skip chapters.

I would read more enthusiastically if Kubo went back to his roots. Bleach was all about hollows and shinigami for half the series, and suddenly nothing.
On one side we have hiro saying that it has a long way to go, then other side we have him naming the chapter as prelude to final battle.
Well lets see
we have spriggan 12 to deal with(40-50)
then we have zeref and Fh(8-15)
then we have gray vs end plot(5-8)
and FINALLY we have acnologia, which according to me will take long time
we might get a flashback of dragon civil war, we got like 16 chapters of zeref and mavis backstory
so lets assume we have a flashback(10-15)
acno's final battle(8-10)
And then we might get ankhserum to deal(5-10)
At last we have an epilogue of maybe 3-4 chapters
so that makes roughly 79-102 chapters left
also the story doesnt need to advance in this particular order, but this gives a general idea of how much chapter remains
which means a roughly 2 years, but given hiro's capability he can draw that many chapters in a year

Nah the current arc will be the last one.
We already saw Solano helping Fairy Tail. That means Jellal will also come. The 4strongest wizards saints were also shown.
The new movie will show Natsu's Dragon transformation(I think) and if Zeref fights seriously in this arc then it is the last one.
As such there is nothing left in the storyline now.
I donot think Ankhserum will be shown. He will be like Hidan's God (so much power and yet the writer fail to give him a storyline).

the only thing that is left in Fairy Tail is "How Lucy will get Aquarious key back" and Happy's Transformation
Rest of the things which are mentioned by everyone will not be shown or they will always remains a mystery. eg: Who wants to see what Zeref did in last 400years other then creating Monsters?
