From distant yonder tower my lady dreams,
The slumbering star that eternity's bosom keeps.
Yet her icy cradle soars not to heaven's bound;
But lay now and forever in a cornice in the ground.
Only in wisps of dreams does she moves merrily still,
Dancing daintily in the Elysian fields pass yon crystal hills.
But in the breaking of the cruel dawn the vision ends;
A thousand tears descend from mine eyes like gems.
My lady she sleeps, may her slumber be deep,
Never to be perturbed by nature's cruel streak.
And in the waking hours when I go to her keep;
I alone in bittersweet memory do lay and weep.
The slumbering star that eternity's bosom keeps.
Yet her icy cradle soars not to heaven's bound;
But lay now and forever in a cornice in the ground.
Only in wisps of dreams does she moves merrily still,
Dancing daintily in the Elysian fields pass yon crystal hills.
But in the breaking of the cruel dawn the vision ends;
A thousand tears descend from mine eyes like gems.
My lady she sleeps, may her slumber be deep,
Never to be perturbed by nature's cruel streak.
And in the waking hours when I go to her keep;
I alone in bittersweet memory do lay and weep.
