The scene with Dan kissing Tsunade seemed to have been something important and decisive. She survived, has her full chakra back and I heavily doubt that this happened just so the fight gets redone and they end up screwed again. Like ever, first all will look bad, then she will have her moment so Dan`s sacrifice wasn`t wasted and she will solo him and win. It`s a) a redo of senju against uchiha with a relative of Hashirama winning and b) the unexpected, the underdogs winning and doing the impossible.

So with other words and very short: plot no jutsu.
