Ok,so let's say you become the first kage of a village. After how many years can somebody take your place as a second kage? The timeline in Naruto is never mentioned,we don't know which year it is or anything, but we still measure time by years, months, weeks etc.We dont say a certain year, but rather say for example "13 years ago".
Well, after how many years can you be a kage candidate? You can't just become a candidate and then instantly become Hokage if you're approved.Actually,is there a voting system to become a kage?Is there a time after which you can vote to become a kage?
I think the kage system is the same as our system, you can vote for president after 4 years, you have a voting system etc.
Also, what are the age requirements to become a kage?

It's probably after they die, or whenever they feel like passing on their title.

It's more like monarchy system. Kages keep ruling till they die or feel like they're bored of that shit.

Take oonoki for example, guy's been running so god damn long.

Gaining the position of a Kage:

- Being chosen by the previous Kage, which is the most common process. (example: Tobirama >>> Hiruzen, Hiruzen >>> Minato, Third Raikage >>> A)
- If the curent Kage dies without chosing a successor, the country's Daimyō can chose the next one, with the approval of the Hidden Village's Jōnins. (example: Danzō's situation, where he was chosen as a Hokage by the Daimyō, but didn't get the Jōnin's favour, in which case he really didn't became a Hokage)
- A retired Kage can come back to his or hers formal position as a Kage, if the new one has died. (example: Hiruzen came back to his old position after Minato's death)

Loosing the position of a Kage:

- Resigning from the position of a Kage. (example: Hiruzen resigned, while letting Minato take control over the Hokage position)
- Death, the most common reason. (example: Hashirama, Tobirama, Hiruzen, Manto, Fourth Kazekag, ect.)
- I don't know if there is such a thing, but it might be possible for a Kage to be stripped from his position, if he or her is a threat to the village it self. . . hmm
