We know that Kurama said the Juubi doesn't have a personality nor does it have ideals:

And that it's basically just nature energy incarnate:

And yet when Tobi was describing the Juubi during Rikudou's era, he referred to its' chakra as foul/evil:

One translation used the word "Foul":

You must be registered for see images

Another translation used the word "Evil":

You must be registered for see images

But Bijuus could only have foul chakra if they have emotions:

Like Kurama was when he hated humans.

You might argue that it's just like Juugo, but it isn't the same because Sage Mode/Transformation is the mixture of both the user's chakra and nature energy:

And if the Juubi is supposed to be pure nature energy, then it shouldn't have neither a good or evil chakra, it should be neutral.

Could this be a hint that the Juubi during Rikudou's era was a conscious Juubi? and that it started hating humanity for the wars, killings and evils they've done?

And considering it was the creator of the world, and existed probably thousands and thousands of years before Rikudou was born, why did it only attack humanity during Rikudou's era, an era of endless war and violence? unless The Juubi saw humanity's evil and decided to exterminate them once and for all:

Maybe the Juubi did form a personality/consciousness afterall, maybe it's just like Kurama and the Bijuus, a misunderstood creature:

And Rikudou's ominous statement:

Thoughts?

Perhaps the Juubi's final form has a consciousness, which is why Madara and Obito know they won't be able to control it.

you could be right... also right now the juubi isnt at 100% it still lacks Kurama and 8 tails

it would be interesting for it to gain a personaility throughout the manga

I think it's plausible. God like creature decides to punish the humans for constantly waging wars, no human's going to be able to understand they are the cause for his actions.

maybe when the juubi evolves again, that will be the evil that tobi was talking about.

nice theory man i agree.

Actually i want to contribute something to this theory,

1. If all the tailed beasts from 1 to 9 have minds of their own, then why would 10 tailed beast be an exception?
2. Madara and obito were having difficulties in controlling the juubi, if juubi is a mindless beast, then they shouldn't have any difficulties controlling it as it don't have a mind of its own and it wont resist.
3. Humans have clearly shown superiority towards other animals with weak brain and tamed them at their will. If juubi was really mindless, humans should have been easily able to tame it.
4. This theory is true because Frikid and Sir Derp Obito , both approve this theory. (most important point)

I had the same idea. I always wondered how the Ten Tails was hailed as the "Progenator of all Things in Life", yet when it appears, it's just some wild animal with no emotions, no concious control of itself, and is being controlled by two nobodies with haxed DNA. Now I concidered, how is simething comprised of 9 FULLY concious beings capaple of human speech and had complex cognitive reasoning skills, yet this "omnipotent" being is just a massive derp. . .

Now I thought because it was incomplete that it couldn't speak or think, but then I realized that it had SEVEN FULLY REASONABLE BEINGS locked up inside of it. So the only thing left is the "final" transformation. It may in fact gain cognitive reasoning skills and speech in its final form and for the fact that it is no longer Obito & Madara's B*TCH.

As for the "Foul" and "Evil" chakra, I believe that will be explained once the Sage of 6 Paths and Ten Tails' story is told, and once the Ten Tails regains the ability of human speech and complex cognitive reasoning, as nobody truely knows why it was so pissed off back then.

@RED BOLD: Now I agree for the most part, but honestly bro. . . How can any ARMY of NORMAL humans tame and control a monster who can do THIS

And it's not even at FULL STRENGTH??? Yeah. . . I Daisy doesn't see that happening. . .

But GREAT thread nonetheless, Lord Derp! Daisy was impressed!!! ^_^

*And maybe in its next form, we'll FINALLY see this thing SPLIT SOME LAND, SWALLOW A FEW OCEANS, AND CARRY A G*DDAMN MOUNTAIN!!! I REALLY want to see that already.

*And Frikid, A thread doesn't become truth or valid until DAISY approves it!!! ^_^

I'm gonna say the Juubi has a consciousness, and it's final form is "humanoid."

Astute as always Derp Obito. It's no surprise that you are NB's Knight of Valor. (Sir)

I always thought that the Juubi will regain it consciousness in it's final form.

Actually I forgot the chapter and page number, but it's during the battle with Tobi I think when Naruto was trying to convince Kurama to believe in him. Can someone help out to point the chapter pls? thank you!

Perhaps the juubi is a manifestation of society's evils, and as such his chakra is driven by them. Thats my only guess, I do like your idea of it having a conscious though.

I believe the juubi had consciousness, as he had Yin Chakra manifested in the Dojutsu, Sharingan and Rinnegan, and created everything (hence the name "Progenitor"). Yin energy comes from the conscious spiritual state of existence, and for the Juubi to possess the ultimate Yin energy then a living consciousness is necessary
