The sage had blond hair. On Chapter 572, it shows him from the back. His hair was blonde.

Last I check there are only 2 colors in manga panels (black or white), unless it was a manga colored insert, that proves nothing.

Notice how the scene got darker as the flashback start, and returns to normal when it was done.
This proves nothing about the color of the Sages hair, but if he's truly a pure blooded Uzumaki, it will be red color.

The white/pale hair in those panels was a result of Chakra exhaustion after extracting and creating the Bijūs and the Moon, much like Nagato's hair which turned white after exhausting his Chakra, but in his youth and in his robust health he was definitely a redhead like Nagato.
