It's the same jutsu nagato used against naruto but naruto broke it as nagato was very low on chakra reserves. Konan states that how can he move infront of nagato this close? ring a bell? haters will still deny it as asspull though. And i liked your expln.

that's becoz nagato threw and inserted a black rod in naruto's body,these black rods are actually chakra rods through wich nagato can control a person with his chakra, and then naruto started walking towards nagato and himself pilled out the black rod and thats when konan said that statement.....

see nagato himself said that he could control naruto with his chakra ,not a technique , in a more elaborated way we could say that nagato can transfer his chakra to anybody through chakra rods and then could contrl that person with his chakra
