One Piece anime has the childish feel to it but the manga doesn't, it can be pretty gritty/dark at times. Especially how Oda draws his characters face, take a look at Doflamingo's pissed off faces, they are poorly portrayed in the anime and often loses the tone to it. That's why at times I wish OP had a better studio animating it to do justice to Oda's artwork.

Naruto is utter crap and is terribly written. That's all there is to it.

It was kind of fun to discuss up to the start of the war, but now it's just an example of what not to do with a series.

A huge majority of mainstream shounen's are crap though, so it doesn't only apply for Naruto.

As is virtually every other series you listed, bro. Anything is capable of utilizing adult subjects no matter the targeted age group (i.e. Legend of Korra on Nickelodeon), but they're packaged in ways that most people either won't notice or take seriously/offense to.

And in the end, shōnen is a genre designated mostly for young adolescent boys. It's SUPPOSED to be kid friendly, doesn't matter what subjects it uses (only real exceptions to that in this day and age are Attack on Titan and Death Note due to their highly death-oriented plots). Want less friendly material, watch some seinen anime (I see Black Lagoon on your list, so you're already in the ballpark).
