I don't know if anybody is feeling like I do, but in the recent chapters I get the intention that Kishi got some ideas from the matrix movie. I will explain some similarities that have come in my mind:
The Infinite Tsukuyomi or Dream World is a world where all living creatures are in a fake constant sleep. They are dreaming their reality, but this reality is controlled by the caster of the Tsukuyomi, so Madara. In the Matrix, people are also living in a fake world, a world controlled by machines, but the world is made very similar like the existing one, before the matrix was created.
The problem in the Matrix was that first the machines created a peaceful and happy world for everyone (still a dream world), but they said that the people have not liked that kind of world so they created a similar one like that existed at that time, with all its conflicts. Maybe when Madara really creates that world without war, somehow the people in the Narutoverse would react similar. Maybe you can also say that this perfect happy world was rushed into people's minds and so they were not able to life in it because their personal growth or progression was not far enough but that is another thing. Still one thing remains, the similarity of the dream worlds which Madara in Naruto and the machines in the Matrix created. Now let's come to the installation and stable management of that world, here some things would even seem clearer.
With the mokuton jutsu Madara is wrapping all the people in a like cocoon or shell made of wood. Why does he need to do that. I think in order to hold the tsykoyomi for a very long time alive or activated, so he needs life force / chakra and he can only get that from the living things. So with the mokuton jutsu and the tree shells around the people, he is somehow able to extract their chakra in order to use it for the Tsukuyomi or better the tree which grew the fruit, at the same time he is also giving some chakra in order to let the people survive.
We already know this kind of thing from somewhere. In the matrix the machines created tons of big towers where the people are also stored in cocoons or better body chambers with nutritional import and export, that the people survive. They stay there their whole life in order to live in the Matrix. At the same time the machines need body fluids and parts of the people to somehow survive and continue their own existence, get their energy consumption stable, because of that reason they created the matrix, because they got no energy from the sunlight anymore. So in both worlds the dream worlds caster or the structure behind it needs energy, in order to get that energy, they get it from the dreamers of the world, the people.
The Tsukuyomi is cast from the moon and shines upon all living things everywhere, the light of the moon even shines through shadows was said by Madara in the last chapter. The machines of the Matrix life on a earth without light, the sky is always clouded by thick dark clouds. This is the exact opposite, still both people are somehow separated from the true light of the sun.
Tell me if anybody else who has seen the movie has some fought like this on his mind, I just came to the conclusion that somehow some things seem a bit similar, even if the worlds and everything in them are completely different.
