"Aim ever higher, that is the destiny of the Hyūga" - Neji Hyūga
As I read over some wikipages I came over this quote from Neji Hyūga where he states the very destiny of the Hyūga clan. Now I was unable to find the specific manga chapter where he said this, but I will keep looking and update this thread and when I find it I will add it. Now another thing before this theory starts, a theory is not something to be proven its simply someone sharing their ideas. Proof is just added to make it look more reasonable. Now the link is under here for those that say against it, and lets get started!

The quote I stated above was nothing more than a reminder and a starting point for this theory and it really has little to do with the actual theory, yet it also builds of the said quote. Now we know that Kagyua possessed the Byakugan and later the Sharingan, which is most likely gained from eating the fruit of the Shinju. So that means she only had the Byakugan originally, and that may mean that she was infact a part of the original Hyūga lineage. Now, it was never stated if she was a member of any clan or if she was the only one of her kind prior to eating the fruit or even where she came from. But this theory bases of that she was indeed a member of the earliest Hyūga families.
Neji's quote doesn't seem like something he came up with himself, it seems like something that was thought to him by his family or clan. If that is the case then it may have been a long saying his Hyūga's existence, perhaps all the way back to Kagyua's time. "Aim ever higher, that is the destiny of the Hyūga". Listen to it, its exactly what Kagyua did. She was already beautiful, had special eyes and was overall better than the normal human being ( most likely ). But even with all that she wasn't able to stop wars and thats what she wanted, so she aimed even higher for power. The power of the Shinju, by eating it's fruit. By doing so she became a goddess and later a demon, someone who was higher than even the mightiest human.
By this theory, I am saying that Hyuuga is a clan and family older than the Senju and Uchiha, as they were created by Indra and Ashura. But I will take it a step further and say that the Uzumkai clan/family is also older than the Senju and Uchiha. Kagyua had two childern, whom was born with extraordinary strong chakra and life force. The Uzumaki and Senju are famous for their strong life force and the Uchiha are famous for their strong spiritual chakra. But what about the Hyūga? Little have been commented on their chakra, but I am fairly certain that they have a pretty high quality of spiritual chakra themselves. I say this because they use their pure chakra as weapons, by using the Gentle Fist stance and abilities such as Rotation to block attacks.
So logically they would need to have at least above average quality in chakra. ( But that may still be wrong. ) Now lets say that the Senju and Uzumaki have strong life forces while the Uchiha and Hyūga have strong spiritual chakras. Now, we still don't know who the father of Hagoromo and his brother was, but I don't think he was left from the story simply because he wasn't needed for the story. I think he was left out so that we wouldn't get all the info right away, to keep things interesting. So I'll go ahead and say it.
What if Kagyua's husband and Hagoromo's father was a member of the earlier Uzumaki clan? By combining the DNA and powers of the Hyūga and Uzumaki alongside the Shinju, they created a hybrid race with even stronger eyes, namely Hagoromo and his brother alongside the Rinnegan. However, since there was no sister born, this hybrid race couldn't remain pure and thus Hagoromo had a wife from another family/clan and thus his power was divided again into his two sons, creating the Senju and Uchiha. Now why wouldn't Kishi just let us know if his father was an Uzumaki? Well is fairly simply. No matter how much you deny it, the question about who will end up with who in the end is a major one in this series and Kishi has been teasing it for a long time.
If he went out and said that the two people who started the Shinobi world with their power was a Hyūga and a Uzumaki then he would ruin that. Because that would make it obvious who would end up with who. Now another thing to note, if you look at the powers of the Uzumaki and the powers of the Hyūga they have combinable powers and it would fit their character. The Hyūga uses attacks that sever the bonds of the chakra in ones body, while the Uzumaki focused on sealing and locking away. This would also explain how Hagoromo and his brother defeated the Juubi. They used the visual prowess of their mother and the sealing jutsus of their father.
We also know that the Senju and Uzumaki are distant blood relatives, and this theory also gives an answer to that as well. They are the same blood, but only a generation in between of each other. It was also stated that the Uzumaki's alone are able to survive the extraction of a Bijuu while the Senju are not. ( Rather it was never stated if they were or if they weren't able to survive, but I choose to believe that they aren't. ) Now that may be because the Uzumaki have stronger life forces than the Senju, because they are the originals and not the Senju. The Uzumaki was also fared so they were destroyed, this may be because of a long hatred and fear towards the clan from ancient times.
If Kagyua's husband was a Uzumaki, then he would be feared as well as Kaguya. Thus that fear may have been be going over ages, and thus they were destroyed. Another connection between the Uchiha and Hyūga are that their end goals seems to be the same. Neji quotes that the Hyūga are destined to aim ever higher, while the Uchiha history is filled with Uchiha's doing whatever they can to reach more power. They both wish to aim ever higher in the terms of power.
