Litore was alone. To rectify this feeling she took one of her many eyes and utilising her Chakras formed it into the globe; our world. Overcome with pride and joy she continued to create and so birthed her children; The Nineseers - The Gods. They inherited her Chakra so that they may create and shape this world she had given them.
Each of her children would also create. A beautiful lush world of mountains, trees and oceans painted upon the horizon by The Artist himself. After many different fauna and flora were forged to populate and rule the ecosystem of the Earth, Humanity would come next and their place in the world would be taught by each of the gods, gifts of independence, desires, the ability to survive and feel. Humanity's would be the residents of this world, and the governors of it.

The Emancipation. Age of Strife
After a beautiful age of humanity and the Gods working together to push life forward in the right direction, came a dark age. The Gods developed themselves and their own motives started to grow and become more defined, this caused friction between them. Emotions were high as they could no longer agree on the direction their unified world should go in. boundaries had to be drawn, rules had to be made as Chakra had the opportunity to not only be a boon, but also a Curse - utilised for Evil. Eventually these boundaries and rules were broken.
Gods blamed each other, what started as petty squabbling eventually turned vicious. War came. There were multiple sides of this War, and it was a brutal one - Humanity suffered the most and the Earth itself was scarred by this turmoil that lasted centuries. At some point in the War, the Gods had formed alliances with one another into two clear sides. One of said sides shared their knowledge of Chakra with humanity, allowing them to utilise Ninjutsu and to aid them in the war against the other - it is unclear which side started this, as it prompted the other to do the same with their followers. This turned the severity of the War up, now Humans were fighting alongside Gods with power almost equal to theirs and minds just as creative to develop news ways to hurt each other.
Earth was on the Brink, until Litore stepped in. She stripped away her Children's grasp on the world and left Humanity to find peace with each other without the direct dictatorship of the Gods influencing their every whim. Peace was eventually formed from a tired and beaten down Humanity which led to the next Age.
Valaris is the Continent of our Setting. It is made up of multiple countries and regions, the six main areas are Eda, Land of Fire; Raiyama, Lightning Mountains; Joriwa, Badlands of Earth; Sunaarashi, Great Wind Desert; Suiren no Ha, Water Archipelago and Tobusekai, Dragon's Wing.
The Blossoming, Age of Order
After the Age of Strife came The Blossoming, and Valaris was the host of many a battles of the Emancipation. From this ruin however, the survivors united and rebuilt civilizations. It was a long, arduous process without the direction of the Nineseers. But Humanity had endurance, the will to pursue dreams; the unfathomable. There were however, rocky relationships with some of the Ninja clans that had evolved from the Age of Strife, trauma had stricken these peoples from the war before and so they had become guarded and protective of one another, struggling to open up their family-like structure to other communities. The first of the great civilizations of Valaris did eventually come from the crescent-shaped coastal lands of what is now known as Eda, The Land of Fire. Here some of the first redevelopments in culture, arts, technologies and ninjutsus started to form. This caused a domino effect with the unification of communities in countries now known as Raiyama, and Suiren no Ha. Trade opened to each of these countries and the sharing of culture, music, food and arts started to produce more and more developments. Peace prospered for a long while in this Era.
The Resurgence, Age of Beasts
With the Age of Strife over a millennia ago, passed into Legend. So did the warnings that came with it, Humanity could not help itself but to progress in every aspect it could think of, each individual with their own agendas and goals; a true reflection of their Godly ancestors and as before, this lead to tension and then eventual War. The First Great Ninja War broke out between Eda, The Land of Fire and Raiyama, The Lightning Mountains - a showing of ego and pride as the two powerful civilizations tried to one-up each other at every turn.
The War came to an abrupt end when a discovery was made by Shinobi Researchers in the Kaizoku Sea, a large crustacean-like monster with three tails. The creature of seemingly phenomenal chakra and strength passed into Haran Bay, and with it's temperament unknown both nations ceased their fighting as to not aggravate the beast into a rampage and causing unprecedented destruction. Teams from either side were sent to observe and research the creature further. Eventually more of these beasts started to be discovered across the Ninja World, they were all unique looking monsters - each boasting a different number of tails and so would eventually be named as The Tailed Beasts (Bijuu). Nine of them were observed and recorded, this number was significant as people likened them as seeds of the Gods left behind at the end of the Emancipation.
The tailed beasts acted quite passively as sentinels of the natural world. People thought them as counterparts of the Gods and that they should be worshipped and respected; some wanted to research them further and maybe try to make contact with them. Others had more sinister intentions. The Four Tails made its home in the Badlands of Earth, and later it was provoked into attacking the local tribes - causing many fatalities, wiping most of them out and finally showing all nations' its true power. This united the tribes in the Badlands catapulting them into a aspiring civilization - Joriwa. There was an arms race between the nations to control these Tailed Beasts, sealing them within children who would then be trained to be weapons of war; these children were called Jinchuuriki. This sparked the Second Great Ninja War.
Kurama was the final beast to be sealed, allying himself with a Shinobi of the Uzumaki Clan, becoming her Jinchuuriki willingly. This Jinchuuriki would form the Akatsuki with the goal to round up all the other Bijuu - hosts or none - and set them free to govern the natural order of the world again. After the war was ended and the goal was achieved, the Tailed Beasts would follow this Jinchuuriki Hero into the Great Wind Desert where she would lead a group of like-minded people to create a new civilization utilizing the natural harsh environment as a way to protect them from the already powerful nations neighbouring them.
After the rise of Sunaarashi, the tailed beasts became restless and many left the safety of the Capital to be with the natural world where they belonged. However this left them open to the same ruthless aspirations of humanity...
War with Tobusekai: The Dragon's Wing has always been open to trade with the rest of the continent, namely the coastal settlements. Not much was known of Tobusekai proper, that was until a large Navy came down on the Water Archipelago, invading from the seas and the shores. It was a merciless attack and the country was quickly taken over. Officials surrendered to their attackers in hopes they would be less brutal to its populace. Tobusekai set their sights on the Land of Fire next, brokering an alliance with the Lightning Mountains to attack on two fronts - Raiyama would attack Eda's mainland whilst Tobusekai would use it's ships to invade the crescent's coasts.
Tobusekai dominated the ocean and pressured Eda from all fronts, but the ground assault was long and drawn out over the years - the attackers making ground, but only slowly. It did eventually get to a point where Eda knew they would lose, they couldn't keep it up. That was until support came from the Badlands and Sunaaarashi, the Jinchuuriki Queen united what Bijuu she could and pushed back the assault of Tobesukai. They destroyed the naval force and went on to liberate the Water Archipelago.
In a desperate attempt to regain ground, Tobusekai betrayed Raiyama - utilising their proximity to the Land of Fire as a way to ferry a devastating attack through the continent. Raiyama had a Jinchuuriki of their own, Tobusekai sent a precision force to kill him and take control of the Gyuki; coaxing it through the Land of Lightning and into the neighbouring country of Eda and beyond. The Jinchuuriki Queen and Kurama went to Raiyama to work with her enemies and subdue the beast, stop it from destroying more than it had to. She met the Agents of Tobusekai and the Gyuki at the border between Eda and Raiyama. The battle lasted for a long while, but the Uzumaki Jinchuuriki succeeded. She would succumb to her wounds and Kurama would mourn the loss. That was the end of the War.
The Emperor of Tobusekai was assassinated a couple years after peace was discussed between the nations, by a spec ops group officially "disavowed" by the Lightning Mountains.
