Hey guys! :hi: New TG fan here!
I watched 12 episodes of Tokyo Ghoul and I'm guessing that was the first season?
So.....season 2 of Tokyo Ghoul....is it from the manga??Or something entirely different?

Should I just read the manga from where the final episode of season 1 ended? Like continue from there??
HELP!! :noes:

Best replies ever. :lol

Root A is an alternate route to the rest of the 80+ chapters that remained after season 1 finished. Except... it's not really alternate. Basically it mirrors the manga completely, while the ''major change'' that was made in the beginning did nothing to change the outcome.

My advice is to read the manga first. The anime is almost a complete trainwreck and not even close to the quality of the manga, and that's a fact, sadly. Read the manga, then watch the anime for the pretty colors and to see what's different (even though not much is).

Well, season 1 ends during Jason vs Kaneki arc so that would be around chapters (half-way in the manga).
I'd still recommend reading from the beginning because why not? Also, read it for Souta, he would greatly appreciate it.

I'm starting to think Pierrot Studio ruined the anime on purpose. :|
The Pierrot always get the last laugh.

You should definitely read the manga, the quality is on a complete different level from the anime but you can still watch the latter afterwards. In any case, the manga story is way darker, way more gore and it psycologically f*cks you up, have fun! XD

There's a season 2, called tokyo ghoul Root A, but it follows a different route than the manga. Whether the 3rd season will follow the manga is doubtful since the studio didn't follow the mangaka's instructions for season 2 (he had proposed a different route) so why would they do it for season 3.

Now, what you want to do is just read the manga from chapter 1, you will appreciate it, there's symbols and stuff that the anime butchered.
When you reach the final chapter be not afraid, the manga doesn't end there. There's a next part, named Tokyo Ghoul :Re.

And remember, clowns are master race :p

I'm sorry you wasted your time, now go start all over from the beginning. Read!
That is a bit shallow, the original season wasn't terrible. (Depends on which version of it you watched of course.) Though season two of the anime fails at a critical place, it has very little of Ken in it.
