Don't you guys love when you've been watching an anime/cartoon since you were a kid and now the characters look more grown up

Ugh i hate that program.

twas a cool show XD but also is just an example of how the characters in shows grow up.. Instead of ash ketchum who just stays 10 for years

Well, I do apreciate details like that. In my current fav shonen manga, Soul Eater, the characters changed slowly thorough the series, without any need on Ookubo's part to tell us "ok kids, x time has passed and now I'll draw the character radically different"; but he does give the sense of progression slowly changing the designs of his characters...MAn >.> Back then, in those first chapters Maka, Soul and Kid looked pretty rounded





I'd say that after Baba Yaga every one started to look a bit more mature:



But there are small changes even before that:
For instance, in Fight to Death Maka started to look a lot more brave, which gave her a look a bit more mature:

Soul was looking really grown up at the Battle for Brew arc:

And Black Star's turn came in the nearness of Baba YAga, after being defeated by Mifune:

Damm, he looked so fuking cool.
I also loved small Maka's apparitions:
