In your own opinion, which character is the overall genius? Before you answer that question, please take these things into consideration:
Genius Definition- an exceptional natural capacity of intellect, especially as shown in creative and original work in science, art, music. natural ability or capacity; strong inclination.
High IQ scores, don't guarantee an overall mental function that is better than another, for every situation. Take Naruto for example, he was considered an idiot and still acts like one most of the time but he has also shown the ability to change opinions and he can alter/improve justu his own father could not. How can someone so "dumb" alter the opinion of others more intelligent than himself? There is a such thing as emotional intelligence. (or as most would call it, Street smarts). Also Might Guy is THE taijutsu genus of the hidden leaf, but he has trouble remembering foes he has previously fought. Does this make him completely "dumb"? His muscle memory is beyond anything Shikamaru could hope to achieve.
I would have to give this to Itachi. While Shikamaru may be more mentally gifted, Itachi is a natural genus at almost everything he does. His emotional intelligence is superb and his taijutsu was on part with KM Naruto.
