The seal is just closed currently exactly like it's in Tsunade's case:

But that's under normal circumstances. In a fight, Tsunade usually release the yin seal(something that Sakura didn't do yet). And when she releases it, markings appear on her face:

The yin seal can only be released after the user focused and stored a great amount of chakra over a period of time on his forehead.(so basically what Sakura did during these 3years) It's from there that the user releases the chakra with the technique, dispersing the seal and pumping the chakra back into the users body. So Sakura actually didn't even release the yin seal already, which means we have yet to see Sakura going all out U_U
