So, I think people are overblowing this. According to the manga, it takes 1000 years for the Shinju to produce the fruit. Problem is, the Shinju hasn't existed since the Sage tore it to pieces and created the Tailed Beasts. So, there is no way it could produce the fruit for Madara/Sasuke/Orochimaru/The Ramen Guy to eat it. So let's stop the crazy theories before they become pandemic.

Agreed. I think it's possible that he sealed some of his chakra within the Gedo Mazo, and set it to activate if the Shinju was ever revived. It's the only way I can think of, unless Madara pulls a Kabuto and rezzes him with Edo Tensei.
