Notice that the fruit has two sides split down the middle. The upright spiral on the right represents the benevolent side and the inverted spiral on the left represents the malevolent side.

After eating the fruit, how one uses the power determines what side the coin lands on.

Kayuga clearly, by using the power for war, despite being in the name of peace, caused the "coin" to land on the bad side.

She used her new found power to end the war. That is stated in the manga. In my opinion, it landed on the good side. Bad people just got power hungry after they were taught by the SOT6P.
