After becoming an atheist did I really understand the value of life.

I noticed that if I put in my own work that I know it was all my doing not some other force it just makes me feel more proud of myself.

I also became more open minded and much more mellow.

It also made me curious to other things I didn't know.

Losing my faith was the best thing that happened to me.

I will also say good for you. That is great. Nothing beats feeling more complete and free. If becoming an atheist took you down that path, awesome. Life is hard and to find a happy place is great. Recently, I feel like I have learned something similar. Nothing to do with religion, but I feel more open and that life isn't as locked in as some of us may think.

Congratulation.

If I may ask, what did you put "work" in that you felt so proud?

Anyway, I think that pride isn't a good feeling, because for pride a person is willing to put another person down, for pride, a person is willing to kill another person.

LMFAO@ someone who just rated this thread one star. I bet I know who it is, judging from the responses of this thread.

You do you man. I feel the same way. Openmindedness in the face of every opinion until acknowledging the option that has the best data to support it is something everyone would benefit from.

Probably in the sense of life in general. Not thanking God for everything he does or accomplishes in life, and realizing that it was his own ability and talent that allowed certain things to happen.

Is that it? Not thanking God for the good things in life is what this person felt proud of? sigh

And why do you speak of talent? You don't know what this man has accomplished.

I thought it was obvious.

It is quite obvious that you can't answer a simple question.

If you say so. My assumption was wrong I guess you're not so bright after all.

Your lack of understanding is astounding.
