I see what Sasuke's planning to do and I stand behind it, but definitely not the fact that he wants to erase the whole past.
My country, Germany is a pretty good example for this. If one could erase the past of this country, it could've been even worse. I mean, if certain things didn't happen in this country, we wouldn't be able to learn from our mistakes.
The same thing (or even something worse) could be happening right now, and that's exactly what makes Sasuke's plan fail.
Why does he want to erase the past anyway? It doesn't make sense to me.
If he erases the past, and with that the slaughtering of the whole Uchiha clan, what would he achieve by doing that? Something similar could happen again.
He shouldn't erase the past at all, he should just change the future.
