The Five Steps to the Naruto RP

If you've found yourself on this thread, you're likely looking for a short and digestible guide on how to get yourself involved in the Naruto RP. The Naruto RP, as its name suggests, takes place in the context of Naruto; you make biographies (characters), train in Shinobi skills ranging from basic 5 elements to the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, and everything in between. Then go on to create your story in the Ninja World, or battle other roleplayers in the . At a first look, the Naruto RP can be hard to approach. With numerous guide threads, a vast array of canon and custom techniques, and a number of rules, it is very understandable for any newcomer to feel overwhelmed. This guide will attempt to break down an introductory set of steps one can take to get their feet wet in this great game!

✖ Step 1: Making Your Biography

The first step to our Roleplay is to create your biography. This is done in the section. As a new roleplayer, your starting rank is Genin. Overtime as you battle and complete missions and other tasks you will be able to increase your rank. Being a Genin gives you access to only a certain set of abilities and skills initially. As a Genin, you begin with a single Basic Element and one Basic Ninja Skill (Basic Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, or Genjutsu). You are able to use E and D-Rank techniques of these two skills. Once you've made your biography, wait for approval and then proceed to step two!

✖ Step 2: Method Training and Sensei

Once your biography has been approved you can finally proceed to learning your Ninja Skills. As a Genin with one elemental nature and one basic skill (Nin/Tai/Gen) you should head to the section. Here you can find the vast array of canon techniques archived for your use. In each of the basic sections (5 Elements, Nin, Tai, and Gen) there is a thread, much like this one. Unlike special abilities in the Naruto RP, you don't need to train in basic skills. Instead, you can read through these Method Training threads to teach yourself on how to use these skills in battle. In conjunction with your Method Training, you can also seek out a Sensei to provide you with a Roleplay Orientation. This orientation, much like this guide, will help break down the Naruto RP in a practical manner.

For those who pick special abilities (Byakugan, Sharingan, etc) you will need to find a to teach you.

✖ Step 3: Ranking Up

Once you've gotten settled in with your approved biography, associated yourself with the Sensei and learned from them, you are probably wondering how you can rank up to expand your skill set. The thread details each rank and their requirements. In general, advancing in rank requires either battles or missions, or a combination of the two. Battling people of a higher rank will reward you with greater progress than those who are a lower rank than you. These requirements increase as your rank increases, making each successive rank slightly more difficult than the last. Once you've met the requirements you submit each battle, mission, or both to be checked in the thread.

✖ Step 4: Battling

But how does one battle? Advancing yourself in the Naruto RP can be done purely with 'single player' missions in the Ninja World; but for others, some may seek the thrill of fighting another roleplayer for the fun of it. It is difficult to boil down battling in the Naruto RP to a set of four sentences; there are a lot of finer rules that one needs to understand. It is highly recommended to read through the as well pursue an orientation with a Sensei to better prepare yourself for a core aspect of the roleplay.

✖ Step 5: Missions

Missions, otherwise known as , allow you to create your own task and narrate your own story. Elements are ranked in varying difficulties, but each dictate the overall rank of the mission that a roleplayer will complete. Regardless of the mission, all take place in the .

Conclusion:

Hopefully these steps helped you get your feet wet in the Naruto RP! While initially it can seem overwhelming, there are an array of resources to get yourself acclimated to the game. It is recommended to converse with a Sensei, review the , and converse with other roleplayers to get yourself a better feeling. But most importantly, just dive in and have fun. Experience is, at the end of the day, the best teacher.
