The First Manga Chunnin Exam Destroys the Boruto One!

Well the chunnin exam arc in the manga was 100 times better than the movie one since the manga one was longer and not rushed like the movies limited length forced. In the original one in the manga the best part really isn't even really Naruto or team 7 as a whole but they are a part. The best part is simply seeing all the new ninja's introduced with their cool techniques and unique backstories and seeing how they all matched up against each other. The movie really did not give any mention to the other characters besides brief glimpses and really only focused on Bort's struggles and that is it. That is the reason I think the movie and the manga version as well were not that good compared to the original Naruto manga chunnin exam. Really the only good part of the movie was seeing Naruto and Sasuke fight the villain. Bort's whole story seemed forced and just annoyed me. I mean in my opinion the original chunnin exams are by a very large margin the best arc in Naruto that got me and I believe most of the fandom into the series to begin with.

Without a doubt. Naruto Part 1 shits on it currently no contest as of late.

Still the Wave Arc was meh and the arc just started, maybe it'll give off a better vibe since Zabuza/Haku were kind of low tier in the long run compared to the Chunin Exams arcs.

Would it have mattered if Boruto's chunnin exams were better though. All the older fans would have just kept saying Naruto part 1 was so ICONIC that nothing could compare to be honest. Like how every 90s kid swears the 90s was full of rainbows and sunshine and nothing could eva compare.

Anyways I agree Naruto's was better. Boruto's could have had a chance if it didn't end up being a plot for the movie instead of the manga.

U just said the reason why it's better . Because the movie had a limited time . Maybe the anime will make it better? In dragon ball super battle of gods anime adaptation had many expansion here and there . So i think the anime will prolong it and put more details and show us all fights

It only get's worse from here unless the new mangaka actually learns to draw and they truly come up with an interesting and original story.

Honestly.. I see what you mean. However, I'm treating this like a whole new Anime/Manga.. I mean just the anime alone has a different tone than part 1 and 2 Naruto, and all of the movies. It seems more slice of life right now, with a more realistic school setting and all. I'm sure once we get out of the academy portion and into the genin section and then eventually.. the chunnin exams, the tone will change. Who knows, the chunnin exams will probably end up being more fleshed out with more character development. Though, nothing really can beat The Forest of Death and the prelims. It's just way too early to judge the real story so far, and it's not totally fair to compare Boruto to Naruto 1 and 2. Kishi might be helping, but it's a totally different guy behind all this.
