Sasuke has appeared, and declared he will be Hokage. Despite his past actions he really has the guts to even say hokage. Naruto will not sit back and let ANYONE take the title.

I think Sasuke is fated to be the next hokage to continue his brother's legacy and restore/protect Uchiha Clan. Same thing can be said for Naruto... He is fated to unite everything (including tailed beasts) and bring peace to fulfill his pervert master's legacy.
