I'll disagree the one of the themes of the whole series is that everyones fate isn't predetermined, and you will only accomplish your goals or get as close to them as you with the correct choices, and a load of hard work..

Why would Shikamaru want to be hokage? Hes been avoiding any more responsibility than hes ever had to take pretty much his whole life. Why do you people think he wants to be responsible for a whole village + ninja + missions? This is the guy with cloud envy! Not that he wouldnt make a good/great hokage but why?

The why for me is that he is starting to see what asuma meant about the will of fire. He aslo is a brilliant strategist and knows how to use what's given to him, if a crisis state were to hit the leaf village he could efficiently complete missions with the least ninja possible. Look at his father, his dad thinks everything is a hassle too, but has stepped up to being one of tsunade's most trusted advisors, i'd like to see him in combat(<-- off topic a little).

yeah kakashi might be hokage cuz its been going down from team to team with one person in the team being hokage, so since rin and obito are dead i guess it will be him. then naruto then after him maybe konohamaru.
