The days of great role models has past. Now days kids dnt have anyone proper to look up to, and the people they do look up to are not what i would call a role models. That is 1 of the reasons i read and watch naruto because he is the typ of role model u wish existed in this world. So what do you guys think about this

There are still some young people that are good role models, look at Emma Watson, she is everything a descent young woman should be. Look at John Cena he is an excellent role model for youngsters and role models don't just come from the media. People can find others to look up to in many ways and that includes animation.

And when you think about it, most of the so called role models of yesteryear didn't turn out so great.

There are lots of people modeling the wrong behaviors that's for sure.

But your post reminded me of a Foo Fighters song, "My Hero."

Heros can be everyday people that we respect, who live their lives with honor and integrity. Which btw, are two things I do admire about Uzumaki Naruto.

i am inclined to agree with your original statement, but not so much your conclusion. the fall of role models can be attributed to quite a few things, and it's completely perspective base. from the standpoint of human progression, one can surmise that the closer cultures become to one another, the more shock there is to assimilation processes. with that in mind, our world is no longer expanding in terms of uncovering new land or peoples, but rather how we shape our species through science, entertainment, and mass media. because of that, new values and interpretations begin to emerge, and with that i think comes a little bit of immaturity as well as powerful insight.

i don't think there's a complete fall of role models, just a saturation of really, really bad ones. and sadly they have the biggest echo chambers online and on television. with that in mind, i think this is a unique time period to be alive in. we're in the midst of shaping how our world is going to look in the coming centuries because our predecessors have somewhat united us.

now my issue with your conclusion is turning to the fictional character moreso than the man who created them. in many ways you're attributing these powerful qualities on impressionable youth with these fictitious beings. now that's not entirely wrong, just that a lot of things come into play as to why they exist to begin with; they are ideals, simply put. and ideals are far more difficult to bring into a real world sphere than one would think.

Everyone is on there own life path, and a role model is determined by the person. There are plenty of people in the world that would be good role models, and if not you be a role model for others. Whatever that means to you.

Example; Personally I think it's stupid to have a role model that forces his philosophies on people. Naruto is what I would call closed minded and not a role model I would want. Though his character is inspiring.

There are good people in the world you know. Not all celebrities are bad icons, just the mainstream ones.

Bill Gates is one of the most decent human beings on the planet. He donated more than half of his fortune to charity, does public speaking, and is just an overall great guy.

Besides, true heroes are the ones you don't often hear about since most of the news focuses on the terrible aspects of the world since that's what catches public eye.
