You don't need to hear from Kishimoto to know that Kiba can be beaten by Nagato, so why would you need to hear from him about comparing any other character.

Him being the author of the series and the one who created all the characters, he could make Kiba strong enough to beat Edo Madara. He didn't, obviously... FOR ALL WE KNOW. My point is, there is no proof of Itachi being better than Minato or viceversa. The only thing there is is personal interpretations and rooting for the one you like, in your case... Itachi.
