The manga has gone to great lengths to illustrate the fact, that Brook, once he badly injures any bodyparts,
won't be able to repair them, and how fragile his existence really is. Now, add the fact that his main purpose
is to meet up with laboon again, and that it'd fit themewise to have him become a head that uses the power
of its soul to float about. Again, just a feeling, not a serious theory ^^ .

well i doubt the thought but it does make me think.....brok has the revive fruit but does it say how long he revived for like its almost as if brooks is imortal
