A 22 year old man shot at officers with a BB gun and was not killed. Instead, he was arrested. Meanwhile, cops killed an innocent small child, who was just playing with his BB gun and did not care. They just went on with their lives and never cared about killing a kid.

Jesse Deflorio faces one count of reckless conduct after he was accused of firing a BB gun in the direction of Concord police officers who were doing a routine traffic stop earlier this month.

Police said that on Sept. 5, two officers stopped a car near the intersection of Water and South Main streets in Concord.

During that stop, the officers said, they heard what sounded like shots being fired, but they were able to determine the gun was most likely a BB gun and not a traditional firearm.

The officers and the occupants of the vehicle were unharmed.

The officers said they heard projectiles striking a dumpster in the area and believed the shots were coming from a nearby apartment building.

Police said they located Deflorio and two other men at an apartment at 203 South Main St. On Tuesday, police filed charges against Deflorio.

He appeared in court Wednesday morning on the reckless conduct charge.

Prosecutors said he was arrested a year ago on a similar charge of shooting a BB gun at a random person who was driving along Loudon Road in Concord.

Prosecutors said he pleaded guilty to reckless conduct last September and is on probation for that incident.

Judge Gerald Boyle said he was worried about Deflorio's safety following the most recent allegation.

Concord police Lt. Timothy O'Malley said the officers at the traffic stop recognized that the weapon appeared to be a BB gun, but if they had seen the weapon first, it might have been a much different situation.

Deflorio's bail was set at $5,000 cash.

If he/she was black he/she would have been shot 5 or 6 times because the officer "feared for his life".

I'm not sure which is more dumb. The fact that he wasn't killed for actually firing at the police officers or the fact that this mans bail is only $5000.

That made me facepalm. It's a little similar the Brock Turner care. Do something bad and only get minimum punishment for it. Meanwhile, others, who are minorities, get 10-25 years for the same crimes or worse, they get shot in their backs by the police 35 times.

Tbh this is how Cops should respond to all cases. Tamir didnt fire the bbgun so no way they could make the differemce but neither did they ask questions or negotiate they just pulled up and shot him down. Even though this isnt fair these cops here handled the situation the way its supposed to. Can all of America get this treatment please?

The image of the woman holding up the picture of the BB gun isn't even the Tamir Rice story. It's another incident that was far more recent and, unlike Tamir Rice's, was justified.

But this is still messed up. Tamir Rice was shot down immediately without hesitation and then you got another guy, who shot at the police with the BB gun, but didn't get the same treatment.

I think a police officer can tell the difference between a real gun shot from that of a BB gun. Not only that, this kid was not being chased for attempted robbery. Quit your shit. The stories and cause and effect are not even close to being the same.
