The Door to the World
I see the tears flowing down your cheeks, slowly but steadily streaming down,
years spent in a corner, crying and weeping,
but you can open your eyes and get rid of that frown,
because I’ll give my all to see you happy again, like a child silently sleeping.
You tell me the world’s against you,
And everyone is happy while you suffer,
I can tell you now that it isn’t true,
for I too suffer, but helping you is the least I can do to see you smile again, even if I’m not your lover.
So dry your tears and open your eyes,
for I am here to hold your hand through the door,
the door to a world free of sadness and lies,
and when we part we ways and say our farewells, I will treasure and remember you forevermore.
