Does any family still hold the tradition of sitting at the dinner table? (not every night, it can be once a week)
And if you do, do you like it?

In my opinion, I find doing this practice has its social rewards. It's a chance for parents to keep up with their kids, a chance for each family member to at least see the faces of their family. Currently at home, we never eat as a family - it's everyone to their rooms or the tv or whatever entertainment they can find because food appears to be a waste of time. In a school week, when the parents are working, I'm busy studying and my little sister is attached to her phone we can go almost three days without crossing paths because we're so wrapped in our own worlds. The point is, no matter how busy you are its nice and refreshing to get to see your family - because when you are older, all your older siblings are working, tied up with studying and there is flat out no time to see anyone until public holidays come round.

I actually find eating highly entertaining. But when someone messes with me by spoiling my fun, such as talking to me when I mostly don't want to,or when they stare at me or overall make me feel uncomfortable by giving me too much attention, then I'm off to the TV.

Most of my shows are on when I eat my dinner so me and my elder sister watch them together, which is a good way to spend time with my sis.

Not really. Never really did. I eat alone mostly, but sometimes I'll eat with them or somebody else. I have my own tradition of watch normally a new RT video while I eat.

Well when I'm at home, at the weekend lunches we do, but just silently eating, not much talk .-. Awkward.

Nope, never had a family dinner unless we have guest over or cousins. That's how your typical indian/south-asian dinner goes.

When I was younger everyone would just go to their room and eat.

They try to get me to sometimes, but I usually just go upstairs and eat in my room.

My family used to eat together at the dinner table. I used to love it. But not so much now that my brother and I live on our own and our parents are divorced. :erm:

My husband and I eat together all the time. We usually go out to eating though, so eating together is a given.

I don't like to hear people sit next to me and munch on their food.
Hearing people eat ruins my appetite so I rather eat alone :p

My family used to on weekends for breakfast. With 7 members squished into a small dining room - it was terrible...and soon became impossible when everyone got older haha. So most of the time, we only eat as a family when my sisters and their families come over and we have barbeques outside.

Yeah I'll agree with you on that.

Just only in the month of Ramadan when we have to fast and break our fast do we sit and eat together at once.
