Lava: 4 tails
Sand: 1 tails
Acid: 6 tails
Ice: 3 tails ( it's supposed to be water though, so this might need some adjustment)
Rock: 7 tails
This hints that there are 9 dimensions, once for each tailed beast. Perhaps a 10th one for the Juubi.
I thought the same but Kaguya or Black Zetsu talk about the basic rock dimension, that connected to the other 5 dimensions. So that would make six.
Seven if you count earth I think.
Still 2 away from 9.
So there need to be another place that connects to the 2 other ones.
We know there are more dimensions. Obito has one too, so this might be possible that there are 2 more. The other possiblity is that the 6 dimensions have something to do with the six paths.
We have been shown the lava dimension, ice, dessert, acid and the basic dimension (rock like).
There is still one missing right? We havent been shown all 6.
Why would rock be the 7 tails?
The rock dimension was the basic one which connected to the others if I remember correctly.
Desert=1tails.

Ice=3tails (we havent seen the 3 tails do much attacks, so maybe he can use ice. In Kirigakure, there are ice clan users after all).
Lava=4tails.
Acid=6 tails and maybe 5 tails, seeing how acid release is also called boil releace and the 5 tails has been shown bringing chakra to the boiling point.

Do you remember the anime episode (yeah might not be cannon but whatever), where they talked about how the 3 tails was swimming to the place near the bottom of that lake, where there was a dimension opening?
They said the 3 tails came from that place. I always found that a bit odd, knowing the beasts were created by the sage, but maybe that was the ice dimension.
