Obito brainwashed Sasuke, Naruto un-brainwashed Obito. I'd say that's a pretty big difference between Naruto and Sasuke, too. Obito and Sasuke were Naruto's greatest TNJ feats.

No, that is Madara. Remove Obito from the equation and we'd only have another Uchiha doing the same as he did. Obito's presence for Madara's plan to work is, in the end of the day, irrelevant.
