Religion always have good and bad in it, i dont really know why fearing god makes you a good person but it works... You know there isn't a single person on earth who is not selfish. And there is nothing wrong with that. The very reason you are afraid of God is what will happen if you don't obey him so your very relationship to God is one of threat.
