Sickness has ripped through the world, putting an end to the civilizations of our land as we know it. Countries came together to establish a plan to combat the outbreak starting with an official Travelling Ban and Embargo across the continent, but it was too late. The Damage was done. Each country fended for themselves, communications were lost, leaving only dread to echo from the silence.
The Torikesu Virus: Named initially because it would attack Chakra systems of Shinobi and cut them off from using their Chakra for Ninjutsu. However, this wasn't entirely the Case. The Virus would indeed prevent Shinobi from utilising the Chakra Systems, but then it would seem to "ease" and at first made these shinobi's believe the illness had passed. The Virus after coming into contact with each shinobi's chakra system would continue to attack it and seemingly make use of it; making Shinobi volatile and out of control, causing unprecedented issues and symptoms across it's victims. This resulted in a lot of spontaneous events to occur from patients including mass hysteria originating from Genjutsu User's infected from the Virus; mutations in specific types of shinobi developed further and out of control; and many other unrecorded symptoms. Infected victims would then either just die or in some instances their chakra systems would overload and detonate, explosions ranging from small scale to catastrophically large.
The Lightning Mountains - Raiyama - due to its geographical location and natural hazardous terrain at its borders, clawed onto some form of hope. Though it was vicious. The symptoms of the fallout didn’t just trickle through the lockdown to threaten destruction, it showed itself in many other forms; the brutal instincts of Humanity and their desperate means to keep surviving.. It has been over a century now with the country slowly getting back onto its feet, descendants of the civilians and refugees now residents of the Lightning Mountains have formed their own governing factions and settlements with a fractured government just holding on.
