The Death Reaper Seal is different

There is confusion on how the RDS is used maybe the user will touch the enemy or not. But the two ninjas that used the RDS used it for different purposes. Sarutobi used it to seal orochimaru's SOUL so that orochimaru will die but Minato used it to seal half of the Kyubii's CHAKRA not that the kyubii will die but it will just lose half of its Chakra. So what i will say is that if the RDS is used to seal the soul, the user will have to touch the enemy but if it is to seal Chakra, the user will not necessarily touch the enemy, the only sure thing is that the enemy must be static and not moving. I want everybody's opinion please, if you want to correct me do it swiftly please, no abuse. And am sorry if this thread has been made before. Thanks...

I have to disagree both ways your talking about need physical contact. Minato may have not touched the 9 tails, but we did see the 9 tails stab Minato which was the contact that needed to be done

maybe that is reason that soul n chakra on 2 diff occasions have been sealed

i would think that contact must be made for all RDS to work. I wonder tho do you have to sacrifice your own life or cant you just sacrifice a kagebushin? like for instance make three clones and allow the clone to perform the seal cause then technically you shouldn't die just the clone
