The Day Dreamer
Your shoulders slouched
Your limp body reclined in your desk chair
Your head deep buried within your palms
This is the flint that sparks a fire
This is the day dreamer
Why are you here
Why do you just sit there
Why do you stare at me with vacant eyes
This is the glimmer of light within the darkness
This is the day dreamer
The bell resounds
And it’s time for the last period to end
A deep smile smothering your face eager to leave
But you left something……..….
Your pencil..Your Jacket..
No!
What is the sun with no moon
What is a student without his books
What is the day dreamer without his lively hood
This is the day dreamer
And his dream, is of his very nature
Your shoulders slouched
Your limp body reclined in your desk chair
Your head deep buried within your palms
This is the flint that sparks a fire
This is the day dreamer
Why are you here
Why do you just sit there
Why do you stare at me with vacant eyes
This is the glimmer of light within the darkness
This is the day dreamer
