The darker side of Akatsuki, ever think about it?

I was just wondering because of another thread, about all the things akatsuki did to make money. It was never really explained fully. Personally, I think if Naruto ever had a miniseries that was aimed towards an older audience that went in depth of all Akatsuki's shenanigans, we would learn they did some pretty dark stuff. I'm thinking pimping (Konan perhaps?), slave trading, drug dealing like Gato, pillaging, etc. I don't buy the simple answer of Kakuzu shared his money, seems too PG rated.

I think it was stated somewhere that they provided normal Shinobi services similar to that of the 5 Great Nations but at a lower cost.​

Well, at least Deidara was a "terrorist bomber for hire" before he joined Akatsuki, we can assume that he continued doing something similar within the group as well.

Eventually, Akatsuki would begin capturing the tailed beasts, in the process antagonising many of its former clients."

Probably! Just like in real life, there's wannabe gangsters, I bet NV had some wannabe akatsuki members too. They would buy all the akatsuki merch.

Deidara was already a terrorists that time. Kakuzu was probably interested in Pein's plan to monopolize war and become $$$$$. Itachi was a spy. Kisame was influenced by Obito. Konan was with Pein. Zetsu aided Obito.

The only ones who I question were in Akatsuki were Hidan and Sasori.

Hidan and Sasori both loved killing people!

Reasons : Sasori made dead shinobis into his human puppets while hidan used jashin curse to let him be immortal

Anyways Kakuzu's own way of making money is dark enough in itself. Don't forget they had a steady income from the rain village most likely.

The real darkness is how many people they've killed. Half of them didn't give two shits about the final goal they just wanted a place to do whatever they want really.
