The confusion surrounding Minato and Senjutsu.

Many people seem to have been using the terms "Senjutsu" and "Sage Mode" synonymously but this is incorrect.

Sage Mode is a state of being whereas Senjutsu is the act of adding natural energy to ninjutsu. Concerning Minato, he distinctly said 仙術 (Senjutsu) and not 仙人モード (Sage Mode).

This leaves us with a few options:

1) Somewhat like Orochimaru, Minato tried to learn Sage Mode but failed because he didn't have the necessities but still can utilise senjutsu chakra to a certain extent by adding it to his Rasengan.

2) The link between Naruto and Minato is still vaguely present, and Minato has been able to take advantage of any senjutsu chakra that Naruto might still have stored.

3) A mix of a 1 and 2, where Minato has tried to learn to use SM but to no avail but can perceive natural energy/senjutsu chakra and picked up on it in Naruto via the link and managed to infuse it into his Rasengan.

I like the theory. I would have bought this if there was some inner dialog from Minato to the extent of " I still have some senjutsu chakra stored up from when my son and I were linked...." Close eyes, add senjutsu and bam.

That would have worked for me. Plus, even though he said senjutsu, why does he have the sage features? Still, I would have even forgiven the sage features if your theory was explained with a few bubbles of inner dialog.

No, like Madara using Susanoo just that onces to save himself without any eyes, I doubt we will get an explaination as to why Minato was able to utilize senjutsu even though your theory would have been sound in this case. Hence why everyone (including myself) is calling it an a**pull.

Youre arguing dirt with dirt here. Its practically like saying "senpou rasengan". Why? Because no matter how you explain it minato was in sage mode even if only for a few seconds.
