The usual way- twisted my ankle on an uneven ground..
I was able to walk despite pain so I was sure I had no fracture. Still it's been ten days and it was not getting better and pain would shoot up time to time. So my mother told me to go to see a doctor. Thus yesterday I ended up getting three x rays and result was - it's a sprain only. Doctor gave the usual painkiller, and told me to use heat pack and keep crape bandage on. The routine we all know and I had been following anyway..
After returning I didn't follow any of the advice doctor gave me though I bought the medicine he prescribed. But my feet still feel a little bit better so far. ( it hurt too much in the morning before). My father jokingly said we needed to pay the debt we owed the doctor in past life to get better. Whether we needed him was another matter.
That reminded me of an old funny cartoon strip:
Neighbour: I heard you went to a doctor
Dhabbu: He needs to be able to live.
Neighbour: I heard you bought the medicines he prescribed.
Dhabbu: The chemist shop guy also needs to be able to live.
Neighbour: But I heard you didn't take the medicine yet.
Dhabbu: I also need to be able to be able to live...
Word play sounded better in Hindi but you get the gist.
