I was just randomly thinking, Its weird how Naruto was all surprised about the slips of paper that tell someones chakra nature. In the ninja acadamy it sure seems like that would of been one of the first things all the students would have had to do. Also the ability to walk on water(chakra control) should be of been taught during the acadamy as well. Does anyone else agree that the academy is underteaching the students?

Chunin usually learn chakra natures, elemental manipulation is harder than you think.

Not every student is a main character or a gifted Uchiha, so I disagree. The way they teach is fine.

Does it matter? They learn as soon as they become Genin.

They would tell them their chakra nature of course... But learning to manipulate the elements is hard so that takes time.

It just seems learning your own Chakra Nature would be like the first thing you learn so you know what to focus on more..

If they we're taught it naruto probably forgot or wasn't good at channelling his chakra into the paper.
If the academy wasn't then, it does seem odd to not teach students their chakra affinity.

no, or else the other konoha 11 would have revealed at least some sort of chakra nature

The average shinobi wouldn't be able to grasp any nature transformation at academy age.

Just look at the war, their nature ninjutsu as adults was relatively weak... Just thin streams of what ever nature.

The Ninja Academy students learn the basics of being a ninja. They eventually learn more advance teachings doing their Gennin and Chuunin years. When you reached Jounin, you should be able to utilize as least 2 elements.

No...Becoming a Ninja is not guaranteed for every kid who attends the academy. If they trained them too well and they washed out of the program...Then they'd end up with civilians with important Ninja secrets.

Kinda goes along with why Kakashi held back on training Naruto and giving him dangerous Jutsu.

The Academy treats the students like babies until they have arisen or awoken to the real world.

As a Ninja yes. As a teacher, needs work!

Aside from the fact his team was destined to break up, I can't say that he did terribly as a teacher. He did teach Naruto the final form of his rasengan and chidori to Sasuke.

No, Kakashi stated that in order to use element jutsu the chakra had to be developed, he was surprised when Sasuke used Katon. Also, he stated that it takes months of practice with chakra control in order to master element jutsu, so the student would have to be mature enough to learn it first.
