all I was telling people was that byakugan is a greater tactical tool in war. The sharingan is a great at adapting two different situations but is not tactical

What does the term "tactical" imply? Cuz that's opinionated. Byakugan has some features of vision while Sharingan has others. They are like two parts of full featured all powerful vision eye.

A Sharingan has precognition, an extremely useful tool in battle. Copying ninjutsu, yeah, very beneficial. Recording and relaying memories, well yeah. Genjutsu, paralysis etc. Battle-wise, they're on par in practicality.

Seems more valuable maybe, but sharingan is far better in performance. Byakugan is good for traking and taijutsu usage, while sharingan is far more better in actual combat. Gives the user an extra edge over his opponent.

Even 3T Sharingan is much superior. Anything over it is an overkill. Not to mention only Senju were put on the same pedestal as the Uchiha. To the Uchiha, the Doujutsu is everything. That alone renders this null and void.

Of course memory relaying is an uchiha power in fact Naruto remembered about his training with Jiraiya in the original series which made Naruto defeat Neji.

In terms of overall power and potential the Sharingan is more powerful than the Byakugan due to its versatility in direct combat. That being said, the scaling on both Sharingan and Byakugan was terribly biased due to Kishi focusing most of the manga on the Uchiha clan. Had he spent as much time devolving the history and plot and Hyuga clan characters then this would have been a real debate.

TheHyuga/Byakugan has great potential to rival the Sharingan, but Kishi favored the Uchiha even over the protagonist's own clan.
