Long ago, humans murdered each other constantly, over many many eons.

All of that blood that was spilled soaked into the earth and eventually allowed the Shinju to grow.

Needless to say, the spilled blood and all that malice was able to allow the tree to grow. How did this happen?
Well, the earth has an abundant amount of natural energy inside it. Perhaps the natural energy fused with the blood and all that malevolent energy and started to form a tree.

However, the tree is merely a byproduct of all this bad blood. The true entity that the blood is coalescing to is the Fruit, with the tree only as a support.

But blood, while symbolic of death, is also a source of life. (blood is used in blood transfusions) Also, in other fiction, monsters use blood to live. For example, Vampires drink blood to mantain their immortality.

So one can imagine the Fruit to have an abundace of life force. Hence, it made Kaguya immortal.

However, since the Fruit was made of murdered blood. Such a thing is undoubtably filled with evil from the every fact that millions had to die for it. It probably contains all the anger and hate of those that were killed in war.

That was why Kaguya became a sociopath. There was just too much darkness surrounding the Fruit.

That was also why Kaguya's Third eye was red. It's the color of the blood.

As Kaguya, had children, of course this malevolent energy gets past down as well.

Hagoromo was genuenly good, so the malevolent energy actually got pasted down to Indra.

So in short, the pain and hatred of millions that were sacrificed and had their blood formed into a Fruit, well

all of that was directly obtained by Kaguya and then later passed down to Indra.

(Note: Sharingan's eye is red as well, red like the blood that was spilled)

Hence, we have a cycle of hatred.

Btw, this is the color of blood

Finally, perhaps the reason Kaguya wants to rid the world of all humans is because of the fact that she can feel all the hatred, sorrows, and pain from the victims' blood in the Fruit. And decided enough was enough.

I doubt the databook description was to be taken literally... U_U

The Shinju didn't actually sprout from the blood-soaked earth.
