it sounds ridiculous i know , but each crew member has similar traits and reputations:
BB:Luffy=captain,paramecia users
Zoro:Vasco shot=heavy drinkers
Sanji:Lafitte=they dress similarly , and presumably very unique abilities(fighting with just legs and having wings)
Usopp:Van Auger and Doc Q=extremely skilled snipers(usopp and Van Auger),Doc Q lies as seen in jaya when offering explosive apples to luffy.Doc Q and Usopp have also got one of a kind weapons not shown to be in anyone elses posession
Nami:Catarina Devon=they use similarly shaped weapons
Chopper:stronger=animals
Robin:Alvaro Pizarro=lots of weapons ,and lots of limbs
Franky:Jesus Burgess=similar body frame, very tough bodies, and burgess uses 2 pistols ,like franky having guns in both arms.
Brooke:san juan wolf= tallest members of their crews
Shiryuu: could be Kinemon=one powerful unique sword , both very skillful swordsmen with incredible durability and inhuman strength

nami also shares similarities with lafitte as they are both navigators a lafitte can hypnotise , which when you think about it is very similar to mirage tempo

i think this is all a set up for later in one piece , a battle between the two crews with matchups of similar skills (kinda).

or this may just be coincidence , if theirs anything i missed please tell me , and if you didnt know some of this , go on one piece wiki , its all there.

if BB recruits anymore people we could use this to guess whom will join the strawhats

vasco shot and zoro are heavy drinkers and shiryuu is like brooke , using 1 sword and always putting it away after every single attack , but shiryuu is also like kinemon in that sense too

It's not ridiculous at all, we all know that eventually there will be a showdown between the Blackbeard Pirates and the Straw Hat Pirates

Also many fans have already figured that however many crew members Luffy will end up having will be the same number as Blackbeard's crew, so that they all can eventually have a 1v1 matchup against each other
